Real instead of calculated planning data - with our time and activity recording system, it will soon also be possible to record actual working times in construction projects in Vanillaplan! Our IT team is working flat out on the development of our new time and activity recording system. Let's take a look at exactly what this means today. Take a look behind the scenes with us at the Vanillaplan IT department and their work on this exciting project!

Our IT team is currently joining forces to develop the time and activity recording system.

What's so special about it?

By linking our resource and capacity planning with time and performance recording, the actual working times form the basis of the planning, so that you always have the current resource consumption in front of you. Conversely, resource planning is transferred directly to the time recording system and can be viewed by every employee via the mobile app. Cool, isn't it?

To give you an even better insight into the project, let's take a look at what there is to do during development.

Shubu is working on time and performance recording for the mobile app:

"I'm implementing the function in the mobile app. This allows the user to add information directly on site, e.g. at the construction site. I first created the UI and UX design so that the app is as intuitive and easy to use as possible. Then it was time for the programming. Eight different service types can now be recorded in the app, such as working hours and absences, expenses and materials."

Christian explains that he is involved in the development of the web app in various areas.

"On the one hand, I am currently in the process of making improvements to our code so that we can make even faster progress in the future. On the other hand I am creating an integration of time and performance recording with resource and capacity planning in Vanillaplan so that, for example, suggestions for time recording can be generated from the resource data. I will also create a validation of the entries so that we can provide users with helpful error messages and information if the entries are incorrect."

Remi is working on the conceptual development and UI design for the web app:

"I've been carrying the ideas for time and performance recording around in my head for a long time, but now we can finally realise them. Basically, time recording is a rather annoying affair for most people. That's why we want to create a time recording system that eliminates as many pain points as possible and that users can have fun with. We try to achieve this with a cool look and feel as well as simple and intuitive operation so that, for example, new entries can be entered as quickly and painlessly as possible. The input uses the data from the operational plan as a basis, so that users generally only have to make a few changes, which in turn improves the accuracy and completeness of the data and makes it available quickly."
